A man has cycled over 29,000 miles (45,000 km) through 37 countries after setting out from his home in Japan eight years ago with the equivalent of just £1.
Keiichi Iwasaki travels through 37 countries on just £1. Keiichi Iwasaki , 36, left on his Raleigh Shopper bicycle in 2001 to go on a tour of Japan. How To Become A Good Listener
Who wants to become a good listener? Listening is a powerful tool of communication. Listening and just hearing has great difference. All of us wants to have a companion who is a good listener and most of us aim to be one as well. When you assess yourself now, what kind of listener are you? A deep careful listener, a bored listener, a selective listener, a defensive listener, an interruptive listener or an insensitive listener? Do you want to know some tips how to become a good listener? If so, here are my simple tips for you:Follow the golden rule:
“Do unto others what you want others do unto you.” Put yourself on the position of the one who is speaking to you. Make an effort to listen to the person who is speaking by giving your full attention to the speaker. Focus your mind to what he is trying to say and for the unspoken messages. Watch for the non-verbal communication like tone of voice, hand gestures, facial expressions and other body movements. Listen for the real meaning and not just for the literal words. Finish listening first before you begin to speak for you to be sure that you understand what is being said and think clearly what to react. Ask questions if you are not sure, to understand what the speaker is trying to convey. Good listening requires practice and patience. But, if you hone this skill you’ll appreciate life more.

If you thought electric bulbs and batteries were modern European inventions, here is something to put that fact to question! A 1936 excavation of some 2000-years-old ruins in an ancient Baghdad village unearthed a small yellow clay vase about 6 inches in height. It had a copper-sheet cylinder lining within it that measured 5 x 1.5 inches.
A soldering material (most probably lead and tin) was used at the top edge of this mysterious cylinder, bearing remarkable affinity to modern solder alloy. A punched-in copper disk at the base of this cylinder was sealed with asphalt or bitumen. A similar asphalt layer also found at the top end held together an iron rod, bearing acidic corrosion marks inserted within the cylinder.

World's most expensive sheep sold
A sheep is believed to have become the world's most expensive after selling for £231,000. Deveronvale Perfection, bred in Banffshire, was bought by a fellow local sheep farmer at a sale in Lanark. The tup lamb will be used for breeding in the hope of more than recouping the purchase price. The UK's previous most expensive sheep, Tophill Joe, was bought for £128,000 six years ago.
